Sangria Tapas Bar, one of Sarasota’s best Spanish Restaurants, began in 2003 as a dream on a local beach in Sarasota, Florida. During a wonderful sunset on a Sarasota beach, Caryn & Alex Amaro were brainstorming ideas of what to do with a location on Main Street, Sarasota that had become available.

Their catering business, Destinations Catering, was in need of a new home, and Main Street, Sarasota seemed perfect. Alex had always wanted to open a Tapas Bar and they figured opening one on Sarasota’s Main Street would be a great addition to their catering business as well as to the Sarasota Restaurants in Downtown Sarasota.

They just had to come up with a catchy name. Sangria Tapas Bar Restaurant was born.
